Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis

To say that Rachel Hollis is a gifted writer, is an understatement. This is the first time that a book resonated with me to the point of giving my daughter a copy, with the words, "this will change your life." I wanted my daughter to be ahead of the head game of standing in our own way as we go through life.

Rachel has been embraced and criticize, for encouraging people to embrace and express who they are without apology, but she's not encouraging us to be rude or entitled. 

As I read her book, I realized how easy it is to self sabotage and not love ourselves enough to fully enjoy our lives. It's been a part of who I am for far too long, and Rachel, in her raw honesty and wit, helped me to re-evaluate my life. 

A simple example - I would always make a call and start the conversation with, "Its only me." ONLY ME, like I was troubling someone by calling, or subconsciously putting my self down. That is one of a million things I have been working on since reading this book, and as crazy as it sounds, I say my name every morning like it's a freakin super power. And I love it. 

At the end of the day, we all  need to stop apologizing to ourselves, because let's be honest, we are always on our own case about the way we look, how much we weigh, and every other insecurity that prevents us from truly being happy. I've read a LOT of motivational in my time, but Girl, Stop Apologizing is by far, top of my list.
